I work in a collaborative ‘client-centred’, or client led way to enable you to move forwards in a direction that aligns with your natural way of being. As an integrative therapist I draw upon different approaches to develop support around each client’s individual unique needs. No one knows yourself better than you. Therapy encourages healing and transformation enabling you to fully connect with yourself, whilst letting go of situations and beliefs that no longer feel right.
“Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that isn’t you – all of the expectations, all of the beliefs – and becoming who you are”
Rachel Naomi Remen
I practice from a ‘trauma informed’ perspective, providing a non-judgemental, warm, secure environment where you can safely explore difficult emotions at your own pace. My wish is for you to feel seen, heard and accepted for the one-of-a-kind person you are.
If appropriate, I may offer to work somatically (with the body) to help you release and process challenging life experiences that have become ‘stuck’. This does not involve physical contact. Complex grief, abuse, difficult childhood experiences, painful events or life transitions in adulthood and complications around pregnancy may present physically. Awareness and exploration of this, together with some practical and simple tools may help to relieve such physical symptoms, while enabling the trauma to be safely processed and released.
As a holistic health and wellness practitioner I aim to provide a personally tailored package of support. Within this fast-paced world, so many of us lose track of our own health and wellbeing, moving through life without truly enjoying the moment. Together we can explore activity levels, diet, sleep patterns, work, relationships and ways to manage stressful life events.
Areas of special interest: Adoption, chronic pain, complex grief, difficult childhood experiences and abuse, menopause, postpartum PTSD and postpartum depression, trauma and domestic abuse and women’s health issues.
